Tackle Height in Community Rugby
The legal tackle height in community rugby in England is below the base of the sternum.
The RFU provide a number of resources to educate clubs, players, coaches and referees on expectations of the tackler and ball-carrier under this domestic law variation.
These resources can be found at the Tackle Height Hub: https://www.englandrugby.com/participation/playing/tackle-height
A PDF of the Tackle Height Sanction Framework is available below. This framework should be used by referees to improve the consistency of their decisions and application of sanctions.
